NORMAN BRUCE MCQUOWN OBITUARY
February 16, 1920 – November 24, 2014
Norman Bruce McQuown passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Hospice House in Ashland at the age of 94. He was born on February 16, 1920, to Bruce and Mary Harmon McQuown in Plymouth. After serving in the Army Air Corp as a flight engineer in WW II, he began a 70-year marriage to Beulah Marie Dawson with whom he devoted his family life to their three sons and daughter. His fondest memories of work life were the many years he drafted locomotive designs at the Fate-Root-Heath Co. in Plymouth. In addition to leading a local Scout troop, he served in the Plymouth Methodist Church and village council, and was a past master in the Masonic Lodge. Norman was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheryl Rook Steinmetz; parents; brothers Noel and Kenneth; and sisters Madalyn Shields and Beulah Clinger.Norman is survived by his wife and best friend, Beulah of Mansfield; brother, Floyd Nelson (Thelma) of Willard; and sons, Roger (Katharine) of Lakeland, FL; John Craig (Marsha) of Mansfield; and David (Bonnie) of Shelby. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 29, followed by services at 3 pm at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth with Pastor Dwight Stryker officiating.
