Michael "Mike" Lee Ellis, age 67, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in Willard on February 14, 1952 to the late Delford H. and Helen M. (Bogner) Ellis.
Mike was a veteran of the US Army, having served during Vietnam, and worked for MTD Industries in Willard for 39 years as a Purchasing Agent. He was a past member of the Willard JC's and Willard Men in Action and current member of the Willard Moose, Elks and American Legion. Mike enjoyed golfing and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Michael "Mikey" (Megan) Ellis and Eric Kaple, both of Willard; two grandchildren, Landon and Ashlyn; brother, Dick (Janice) Ellis of Willard; sister, Janet (Steve) Predieri of Willard; brother-in-law, Dalton Schaaf of New Haven; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathryn "Cathy" (Hamilton) Ellis, who passed away on March 27, 2010; and sisters, Connie (Doyle) Newman and Joanne Kay Schaaf.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mike's funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Montgomery officiating. There will be military rites to follow the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Donor's choice.
