Phyllis Geraldine Crisp Taylor, 79, of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at her home. She was born on January 13, 1940 in Mendota, Virginia to the late Willie and Gertrude (Steffey) Nester and has been a Plymouth resident since 1956. Phyllis had been employed at the Buurma Farms for 15 years and retired as a nursing assistant from Hillside Acres Nursing Home after 37 years. She was a member of the Tiro United Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Debbie Crisp of Deland, FL and Gregory and Kim Crisp of Plymouth; one daughter and son-in-law, Trish and Gregory Adkins of Mansfield; grandchildren, Brandon Crisp, Matthew Crisp, Phillip (Shelly) Crisp, Katie Crisp, Morgan (Jarred) Hintz, Adam (Laura) Stine and Aaron (Jackie) Stine; great grandchildren, Ariel Stine, Lilly Stine, Naomi Stine and Asher Stine; stepchildren, Brenda (David) Myers of Plymouth, Kathy Diane (Harold) Smedley of Plymouth, Larry Gene (MaryLee) Taylor of Mount Vernon and Pamela Taylor of Shelby; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Nester of Plymouth; Frank and Linda Nester of Willard; John and Ella Mae Nester of Willard; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and Clayton Bartow of Plymouth and Eddy and Gene Fritz of Big Prairie, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by an infant son, Homer Lee Crisp; her first husband, Donald Crisp; second husband, Johnnie Taylor; step son, Johnie Lee Taylor; brothers, Bob Nester, Herman Nester and James Nester; and sister-in-law, Wanda Nester.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Merlin Dye and Pastor James Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Memorial contributions can be made to the Tiro Untied Baptist Church.
