Donnie Sallee, age 60, of Willard, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 13, 2013 at his home. He was born March 26, 1953 in Willard, Ohio to the late Oscar and Grethel (Back) Sallee and had been a life long Willard resident. Donnie served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was retired from Pepperidge Farm in Willard. He enjoyed working around the house on home improvement projects. He also loved cooking, taking care of the animals and spending his time walking on the beach with Connie on their trips to Florida. He took joy in sharing special moments with his family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Connie; 3 children Charla (Jared) Hager of Coral Springs, FL, Angie (Erik) Sauceda of Mansfield, OH and Rodney (Julia) Sallee of Willard; 2 step-children Shannon Bloom of Bellevue, OH and Jessica Studer of TN; 10 grand children, Sidney, Chloe, Landon, Olivia, Ashlyn, Alexis, Liam, Emery, Brady and Emilia; 7 brothers, Melvin (Joyce) Back of FL, Frank (Norma) Sallee of FL, Kelly (Mary) Sallee of Willard, Paul (Donna) Sallee of FL, Ernie (Deb) Sallee of Shelby, OH, Larry Sallee of North Fairfield, OH and Dale (Vickie) Sallee of Crestline, OH; 3 sisters, Jewel Sturgill of North Fairfield, OH, Louise (Raymond) Adams of Crestline, OH and Bernita (Alvin) Weiss of Willard; Several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law Donnie Gray of Willard.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Ella Gray.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM where the funeral service will be on Thursday September 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Sallee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions can be made to the Piper’s Promise Foundation which benefits families with childhood cancer. We were heartbroken when we heard this news. We will not be able to attend any of the services but we will pray that the family finds the strength needed to make it thru.
