Robert Henry Auck, age 99, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013. He lived with his son-in-law at 85 Mulberry Street in Plymouth, Ohio. Robert was born on February 2, 1914 to Henry and Alice (Fritz) Auck in Brokensword, Ohio. He was one of eleven children. Robert graduated from Homes Liberty High School. He loved trains and started working for Penn Central Railroad. Robert married Helen Barber from Crestline on December 26, 1941, then he was drafted into the Army in 1942. He served in World War II, in France and Germany. After the war he went back to Penn Central Railroad where he retired from in 1972.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, his infant son, Bobby, his daughter, Becky and his son, Virgil. He is survived by his daughters, Virginia Auck, Susie and (David) Beachler; two sons, Robbie and Mark Auck; and one sister, Artenis Peters of Galion. Robert has several grandchildren, John Robert Scott, Jason Scott and Michael Scott, Nichole (Auck) Holzer and many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 1-3 P.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Secor Funeral Home, 35 Railroad Street, Plymouth, Ohio 44865.
Memorial service will begin at 3:00 P.M. by his son-in-law John Scott, an Elder from the Shelby Cong. of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Interment will be at the Crawford County Memory Garden in Crestline, Ohio, on old Rt. 30 west of Crestline.
