Phyllis M. Montgomery, age 90, of Plymouth, Ohio passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard, Ohio. She was born November 10, 1922 in Willard, Ohio to the late Clarence and Maude (Coombs) Wheeler and had been a life long area resident. She was a 1940 graduate of North Fairfield High School and a homemaker. Phyllis enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and football, crossword puzzles and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by seven children, Terry A. (Rhonda) Montgomery of Willard, Randall L. (Mun) Montgomery and Ronald L. (Patty) Montgomery, both of Raleigh, N.C., David J. (Barb McDonald) Montgomery of Plymouth, JoAnn A. (Michael) Manley of Pittsburgh, PA, Judy A. (Allen) Karl of Tiro, and Mark A. Phillips of Greenwich; daughter-in-law, Mary Montgomery of Plymouth; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a sister, Harriett Roderick of Plant City, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Montgomery; 2 sons, Michael R. and Carl D. Montgomery; a grandson, Richard Montgomery; her parents, four brothers, Harry, Claude, Kenny and Randall Wheeler; and two sisters, Alice Brinker and Ada Farnham.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Friday, January 4, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be held at a later date in the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
