Roberta I. “Bobbie” Sampson Bores, age 89, of Monroeville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Fisher-Titus Hospital in Norwalk, Ohio. She was born December 14, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, Ohio and also of the Firelands Historical Society. She loved spending the winters with her husband in Lakeland, Florida. She also enjoyed painting, cooking, baking and mostly spending time with her family.
She is survived by 4 sons, Michael Bores and Thomas (Becky) Bores of Monroeville, Ohio. David (Anna) Bores and Richard (Connie ) Bores of Willard, Ohio; 2 daughters, Linda (Richard) Rinehart of Port Clinton, Ohio, Patricia Bores of Palm Harbor, FL; sister, Marilyn Horvath of Twinsburg, Ohio; son-in-law, Richard Armatrout of Tampa, FL; 3 sister-in-laws, Leota Haupricht, Lillian and Dortha Bores, all of Willard, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Roberta is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel in 2008; daughter, Karen Armatrout, October 20, 1997, sister, Grace Bowles, parents John Sampson and Harriett Alden Sampson Temmesfeld and foster parents, Harry and Marian Smith.
Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio, with a prayer service at 8:00 P.M. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, Ohio, with Fr. Eric Culler officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice of Sandusky or to the donor’s choice.
