Beatrice M. Kibler, age 94, resident of Fountain Hill, Arizona and former New Washington resident passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born on December 28, 1915 in New Washington, Ohio to the late Lester and Vera (Duvall) Ervin and had been a New Washington resident the majority of her life until retiring to Arizona. She was a graduate of New Washington High School and was a homemaker. She had been employed at the former Shelby Sales Book during WWII. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington.
Bea was an avid golfer, china painter, and knitting specialist. She was always knitting comforters for the Operation Linus Project. She loved going to her granddaughters sporting and musical events. She was a big fan of Horizon High School baseball where her son Eric still coaches. She shot an 87 in golf when she was 83 years old and had two hole in ones with her last one at age 82.
She is survived by two sons, Greg (Sally) Kibler of Mansfield; and Eric (Shirley) Kibler of Scottsdale, AZ; three granddaughters, Jackie Kibler; Darcy Stravitz; and Rachelle Kibler; one great grandson, Colton Stravitz; and a sister, Helen Callan of Norwalk.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald O. Kibler in 1981; two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington with Reverend Joseph Bartczak officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church. Online condolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

Greg, Eric and family, I was saddened and surpised to hear of your mom’s passing. So many memories flooded into my mind. Both she and your father were always so kind to me and my family. I remember her and Jack often playing golf with Dad and putting up with my game as I began to play in Bucyrus. (they are probably playing golf right now without us!) I can still see them sitting on the right hand side of the church on Sunday mornings. What a Christian witness to their faith. They were very generous to open their home to us when we went west for the Fiesta Bowl with Ohio State. The list can go on and on. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I was sad to hear the news of your Mom’s death. What a wonderful lady! She taught me to knit, and I remember so fondly the times Mom, Dad, and your parents spent together while I was growing up.
