Jenny and family – Sincerest sympathy from my family to yours. Though our loss here is great, know that it is Heaven’s reward to have such a wonderful person in residence there. God Bless all of you during this time.
Dear Pat and all the girls;
I was so very sorry to hear about Ed’s passing from my parents (Tom and Sandy Hall). He was always so kind, funny and and sincere. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Dear Sullivan family,
We are truly saddened to learn of Ed’s passing. My husband and I came to know Ed during the Follies that Mercy Hospital produced back in the 90’s. He was my dance partner in several numbers throughout those years and we shared many laughs. His gifts were many – not only as an entertainer, but as a true gentleman. I know where his girls got their theatrical talents! We all enjoyed Ed’s wit and charming smile, and we were all touched by his warmth and true concern for others.
Ed and I shared a common bond in our love for Penn State – when he discovered I am an alum, he presented me with a pair of earrings that commemorate PSU’s national championship, and I will treasure them as a memento of a very elegant and gracious man. What wonderful memories your family must have! I am sure that Irish eyes are smiling now that Ed Sullivan has joined their heavenly chorus.
You are in our prayers. Please accept our sincere condolences –
Tim and Susan Moore
Our prayes for peace in your hearts at this difficult time. Will miss Ed’s smile and sense of humor…he ALWAYS made me laugh!
Jenny and family. I am so sorry to hear about your dad. What a cool guy. I can only imagine how fun it was at your house. May God bless you and yours during this difficult time. Remember all of the great times you had with him and keep them close to your heart. Sincerely, Todd Weatherbie
Dear Pat and girls, We were out of town when we heard that Ed had passed. I just loved seeing him. He always made me feel like the most important person in the world. I remember one time I walked up the stairs to go into church after being “absent” for a few months, and ED was standing there wondering where I had been lately. Needless to say, I got right back on schedule. Didn’t want to disappoint Ed. We know you will find your strength in each other. We are praying for all of you and for Ed’s soul. Fondly, Paul and Susie Zdroik
Katie,

Pat and your beautiful family. We are so sad with the passing of Ed and our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We met Ed when our son married one of the Sullivan girls,Barbara. What a happy day that was and all the times since that day that brought our two families together. Ed was a gentle man,a careing family man. He was a proud father and husband, and when the girls were around him and their voices rang out in song, you could feel and see the joy that it brought to his life. He will be greatly missed by all that had the good fortune of being in his presence and knowing him for the man he was. We all wait for that day when we shall meet him again.
Pat
So sorry to hear about Ed’s passing. Our get well card was a little late.
We only knew him for a short time but we loved him. We will miss him. We regret we wil not be able to attend his services as we will be out of town.
John & Flo Trybuski
We send our love and prayers to all of you. It was such a gift to see Ted and all of you at Peggy and Ron’s wedding. My memories of Ted make me grin and shake my head- what a truly unique, caring man. I will never forget how he told me, when I was just a little kid, that I reminded him of my grandma, his mother-in-law, Catherine Maloney. What a lovely thing to say:)
Thinking of you.
With much love,
Eileen and Co.
Sue, Aileen and Andrew,

Pat and girls, husbands, grandchildren.
I was so sad to hear of Ed’s passing. I don’t have to tell you what a great man Ed is. I have many memories of Ed that are special in my heart. I know you will hear that from so many people because Ed gave himself to many of us. He and you, Pat, gave me the gift of knowing and loving your girls. What a gift you gave to us You are all in my prayers as you celebrat his life here on earth but his is just starting. How heaven must be welcoming him! My love to each of you.
Our prayers and best wishes go to Ed’s family and many, many friends. He reached out and touched so many people in a positive way. I am especially grateful for the special welcome he gave to my family when we moved to Willard years ago. The community will miss his humor, positive support and quick wit. I believe all were touched in a positive way just having the opportunity to have met him. God bless.
Mrs. Sullivan and girls, I’m so saddened by the news of your loss. What a wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather who’ll be greatly missed. I have such fond memories of him and your family. I appreciated his friendship to my dad and I know he meant alot to Dad. They’re rejoicing together!
Pat and Daughters; We extend our deepest symapthy on your loss. Ted was always fun to encounter with his wit and wisdom. At some time we know he had to have kissed the Blarney Stone indicative of that Irish twinkle when he spoke and laughed. What wonderful memories Ted invokes! We will miss our friend.
Growing up, I didn’t have a grandpa on my dad’s side because he died when my mom was pregnant with me. Ed was like my grandpa. He came to Saint Francis Grandparents Day every year. I felt that even though he wasn’t my grandpa, he made my life so special. When I started playing piano in church, he used to ask me when I’d start playing Irish songs. He even gave me the music to the Irish National Anthem to learn to play; regrettably I did not learn to play it for him. But now I wish I had. The Sullivan’s and the Spayde’s go way back, or so I’ve been told. I feel so blessed that Ed was a part of my life. I cant remember a family party that he was not invited to. And he was always so much fun to be around. Thanks to him, I now have one of the best friends I could ever ask for; his grand-daughter, Aileen. He was right when he told me we would get along great. I simply can’t say how greatful I am to say that Ed Sullivan was part of my life.I remember his singing throughout my life in church and family parties. He was truly an amazing man. I loved him as family and miss him very much. I wish I could be there at the funeral with all of you; but sadly I cannot. Ed will forever have touched my heart. Prayers and love to all.
Aunt Pat and my beautiful cousins, our hearts ache for all of you. I know Uncle Ted is with Dad, Uncle Jack and Aunt Catherine having a great reunion and Granny Sullivan is probably
organizing all of them while the original Mike Sullivan is enjoying his wings (he certainly deserved them). We love you and wish we could be
there with you.
Love, Kathy, Jim and the rest of the clan.
Mrs. Sullivan and girls,, I always loved talking with Ed. He was so funny, always had a kind word and always acted like he had all the time in the world to talk to you. I’ll miss running into him around town when I am home. Thoughts and prayers at the tiem and always.

That is a great Picture of Ted!
We’ve been thinking a lot about him the past few months as he started to slip away. Ted grew up in a small town, Dubois, and spent most of his life in another, Willard. Whenever he was traveling he couldn’t wait to get back home. It was where he was connected. And he had lifelong friends in both, which is a rare thing these days. Reading the other notes here you can see how connected he was to the community. His family was central to him. He worked forty some years on the railroad to support them (and you can’t do that without a strong reason.) He loved singing and passed it on to all the kids. He was a good bull-shitter and would strike up a conversation with anyone. He saw it as his duty to tease every waitress or store clerk, especially if she happened to be young and pretty. He had an opinion about how everything should be run and you generally heard it within the first few minutes. He was religious without being preachy. He had few vices unless you count Hot Dogs. And while it wasn’t flashy, I think he had the life he wanted—family, friends and community. We will miss him.
Jim Maloney—Ted’s brother in law
I have such wonderful memories of Ed over the past 30 years. It seems that he was always lovingly telling Barb and I to go to bed after we were keeping him up half the night talking and laughing! I will miss his big smiles and bear hugs :-). You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love … Becky
Pat & Girls, You have our deepest sympathy! I can remember being a little boy, when your family moved into the home on Tiffin Street. My parents and Pat and Ed (Ted as I called him) became very close friends! I can recall the 4 of them sitting around the house, drinking “coffee” (I think it was coffee, I was pretty young at the time)and discussing “those kids these days!”…Ed was always a gentlemen, with a kind word to share. He will truly be missed! But you have so many great memories to recall from Ed’s wonderful life! God Bless Ed and the Sullivan family, especially my mothers best friend Pat! Doug & Jody Baker
Pat: Ed will be truly missed by all those who were blessed to know him. Just remember…those Irish eyes will always be watching over you….God Bless you!
What a wonderful man, he always had a big smile and a gentleman to work with. He always stood up for what he believed in and defended his workers. He loved life and spoke often of his family. God bless his family, he will be totally missed and loved by his family and friends.

Mrs. Sullivan and all your beautiful daughters-Once I received the e-mail from Sue about her fathers passing, the mental picture I had was that of him setting up the church at St. Francis and that smile he always gave us sitting in the front pews.As they say, “Heaven has one hellofa band” now they have a heckofa director ! I still remember him asking me to be on the St Francis float for the Centennial parade along with all the guitarist, what a honor. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
Troy & Sharon Predieri-Sebastian,Florida
Pat and girls…Ed was such a special person. I have such fond memories of him from doing the Follies and so many Community events. He always had a smile on his face. How fitting that his “angels on earth” sang to him as the heavenly angels welcomed him to his eternal home. He will be missed.
Pat and family, You have our deepest sympathy on the passing of Ted. I remember Ted as a spirited man who loved to sing and never backed away from a lively conversation. I know he’ll be greatly missed.
