Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Mary E. (Weithman) Niedermeier, went home to Christ January 26, 2010 after a brief illness. Born in 1931 to Edward and Anna (Roettgen) Weithman, she lived her life in the New Washington area and graduated from New Washington High School.
A member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, she was a devout Catholic, who was a woman of deep faith, who treasured her family and friends. Mary was unselfish in everything she did, always giving of herself. As a member of the North Auburn Rosary Altar Society she also volunteered her time to the Golden Agers.
Her real passions were spending time with her family. Her love of baking especially pies and cookies were enjoyed by all. She enjoyed playing cards, crafts, reading, art and music and her cats. Her hobbies included watching sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes. She made every moment special.
She will be missed by future generations, all those who knew her, and all those lives she touched in so many special ways.
Surviving is her husband of 56 years, Harold, her children, Jane (Randy) Laughbaum of Willard; Marcia Niedermeier of Willard; David (Diane) Niedermeier of Mansfield; Donna (Ron) Wenninger of Tiro; John (Carol) Niedermeier of Willard; Vicki Niedermeier of New Washington; Sharon Niedermeier of New Washington; Kay (Neil) Cherian of Cleveland Heights; Greg (and fiance’ Karen) Niedermeier of Crestline; Andy (Stacy) Niedermeier of San Francisco, CA; Kara (Ed) Springer of Merritt Island, FL; seven grandchildren, Heather, Cody, Lisa, Ryan and Steven Niedermeier and Cassie and Krista Wenninger; two sisters, Esther Tracht and Ann Phillips; one sister-in-law, Alta Weithman.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sons, Brian and Paul Niedermeier; three brothers, Edward, Joseph and Sylvester Weithman; step-sister, Rita Weithman; step-brother, Richard Weithman; two brothers-in-law, Junior Tracht and Jerome Phillips; two sisters-in-law, Wynoid and Rose Weithman.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in North Auburn, Ohio with Father Tommy Rodrigues and Father Frederick Schill officiating. Burial will follow in Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery. Memorial expressions can be made to Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church or the Mercy Willard Hospital Cardiac Rehab.
