Geraldine “Gerry” Hershiser, age 64, of Willard, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2008 at her home, following a 4 year battle with cancer. She was born October 21, 1944 at the Norwalk Memorial Hospital, to the late Raymond and Lucy Worcester. She was a graduate of Willard High School and worked for 29 years at MTD in Willard, before retiring in 2005. Gerry was an avid baker, always trying new recipes. She enjoyed gardening, canning and spending time with family and friends. But her greatest joy was spending time with her 7 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Ronnie, whom she married on October 17, 1964; son, Jeff (Lisa) Hershiser of Tampa, Florida and their children, Madison, Joshua and Jacob; daughter, Joanie Ebert of Columbus and her children, Jarryd, Jeremy, Jordyn and Allyson; six sisters, Myrtle Daniel of New Washington, Doris Howell of Monroeville, Patricia Ruggles of New London, Peggy Warzinack of Torrington, Wyoming, Jean Bernard of Willard and Judy Eckstein of Findley; five brothers, Richard Worcester of Norwalk, Ken Worcester of Greenwich, Bill Worcester of Monroeville, Dale Worcester of Monroeville and Ron Worcester of Willard.
Pall Bearers will be Dale Worcester, Luke Worcester, Tom Brause, Zeb Worcester, Jarryd Ebert and Jeremy Ebert.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lucy Worcester; brothers, Harold and Russell Worcester and her sisters, Betty Winston and Marie Fagen.
Visitation will be Monday, November 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Tuesday, November 18th at 11 A.M. with Rev. Mitchell Jason officiating. Burial will be at the Greenfield Township Cemetery in Steuben, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, Gerry wishes for donations to be made to Stein Hospice of Sandusky.
